carbon hollow fiber membranes for Olefin/paraffin separation

Hollow fiber carbon molecular sieving membranes have the potential application in Olefin/paraffin separation.

the polymeric membranes usually have low selectivity for the gas pairs. while the traditional distillation separation method is energy intensive process for the separation of these mixture with close boiling point and volatility.

carbon membranes have high selectivity based on molecular sieving mechanism. the main challenge is to improve the gas permeance by preparation of asymmetric hollow fiber carbon membranes.
