We successfully developed asymmetric hollow fiber carbon membranes from cellulose precursors. This membrane shows a high H2/CO2 separation performance under the harsh conditions of high-temperature and high-pressure operation. The long-term stability indicates the great potential for hydrogen purification in a steam methane reforming process, which provides an energy-efficient separation technology to expand the hydrogen economy.
